ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) or ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) shows persistent and frequent patterns of impulsivity. ADHD is a condition in which patient face difficulty in focusing on any task. In this situation, he or she cannot sit still and tends to act without thinking.

This problem may start from early childhood and can continue to the adulthood. If treatment is not done on time, ADHD can cause serious problems at work, home, school, and sometimes, in relationships.

The brain uses different natural chemicals to transmit messages across the central nervous system. An imbalance in these chemical messengers may result in the hyperactive and inattentive symptoms of ADD. It is not just a childhood disorder, it affects adults as well.

When mental illness, drug or alcohol addiction occurs at the same time then this situation is called as co-occurring disease.

Types of ADHD symptoms:

• Acting before thinking. People with ADHD may laugh too loud, talk too loud or become angry at any situation. Children may not be able to share or wait for their turn. It makes it difficult for them to play with other children. Teens and adults take quick decisions without thinking which may pose a long-term impact on their lives.

• Trouble paying attention. People with ADHD are easily diverted as they lack focus. They have a hard time concentrating on any task.

• Trouble sitting still for even a short time. This condition is widely known as hyperactivity. Children and full grown adults with ADHD may fidget, squirm or run around at wrong times. Adults and Teens often feel uneasy and restless.
